Welcome to the Yorkville Joint #2 School District. Founded in 1959, we are a one-building campus located in central Racine County proudly serving the communities of Yorkville, Raymond, and Dover. We have a rich history of providing excellence in education for students in four-year-old kindergarten (4K) through eighth grade. The vast majority of our 8th grade graduates attend Union Grove High School following commencement.
Yorkville is a high achieving school district with hard working students, a talented and dedicated staff, and a very supportive community. The Department of Public Instruction rated us Significantly Exceeds Expectations on the most recent accountability report card. This 5-star rating places us in the highest category of all the schools and districts in the state of Wisconsin.
In 2023, the district residents voted to approve two referendum questions. The first question allowed the district to borrow $12.1 million to address much needed maintenance and facility projects. The community also passed the second question, which approved an additional $900,000 each year above the revenue cap for operating expenses. This support is greatly appreciated, and we are striving to be wise stewards of the money the community has invested in our school.
In addition to our strong record of academic success, we offer outstanding fine arts and extracurricular programs. Spanish, art, band and choir enrich our curriculum, and students can choose from a wide variety of clubs and sports.
A high value is placed on communication with all of our stakeholders. We use Skylert via email and phone to notify parents of important news and happenings throughout the school. This year we will also initiate a quarterly newsletter for our community to ensure that all residents are aware of the great things happening in our school.
I am extremely fortunate to be the superintendent of the Yorkville School District. I look forward to working with the students, staff, and families in our district. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I can be reached by phone at (262) 878-3759 extension 504 or via email at shawn.mcnulty@yorkville.k12.wi.us.
