WISCONSIN PUBLIC SCHOOL OPEN ENROLLMENT
Public school open enrollment allows parents to apply for their children to attend school in a district other than the one in which they reside. The open enrollment period for the 2025-2026 school year opens on February 3, 2025 and closes on April 30, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. All applications should be submitted via WI DPI through the following link: https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment.
If your child is already open enrolled at Yorkville Jt. #2 School District, you do not need to reapply for open enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year. The only case in which you may be asked to reapply and/or fill out additional forms would be if you were to move and become a resident of another school district (other than Yorkville). At that point, you would be directed to fill out paperwork in accordance with WI DPI, so we may let your new resident district know that your child will continue to attend Yorkville through the open enrollment program.
Additionally, if your child is a currently open enrolled student at Yorkville School, and you plan to have their siblings attend next year under our open enrollment siblings policy, you will still need to apply for any incoming siblings via WI DPI’s Open Enrollment Online Application Portal (see above link).
Once the open enrollment application period has closed, our Board of Education will meet in early May to complete a lottery based drawing of applicants. In the coming days afterwards, families will be notified whether their child has been accepted, denied (with explanation), or placed on a waiting list (along with their corresponding waiting list number).
